This page is updated regularly to list conferences and events that may be of interest to people who work with children and youth with emotional and behavioral disorders. If you know of an event or conference not included here, please E-mail us. Also check the National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities' (NICHCY) Conference Database, the Federal Resource Center's Conferences Page, the National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS) Calendar of Events, and the Office of Special Education at the University of Virginia's events list for information about additional upcoming disability-related conferences. In addition, BDOnline is a site that hosts a series of national conferences on the World Wide Web that enable teachers to interact over the Internet with experts in the field of behavioral and emotional disorders.   Please also see our Bulletin Board for job announcements, scholarship opportunities, and other news.

Surgeon General
The Surgeon General's National Conference on Children's Mental Health is being organized by a Federal interdepartmental coordinating committee and will represent a broad range of children's mental health issues.  The purpose "will be to engage families, professionals, and scientists in a meaningful dialogue about issues involved in identifying, recognizing, and referring children with mental health problems for appropriate, evidence-based treatments or services."  Because of space limitations, the conference will be by invitation.  A web site has been set up to gather input from interested parties: see their web site at http://www.surgeongeneral.gov/cmh/.
