hi my name is maria and i just read what you said about your mom's decision and how you don't feel safe the reason why i stumbled across this message is because i typed on the google search engine "i am 17 and my father hit me help" i'm doing so much research and i am trying to find an organization or anything that will give me advice and it seems like all the websites tell you to be curagious but there's no numbers to call or aid they offer other then encouraging words they tell u to get out but they don't say what to do afterwards i read your message and i started crying so hard i couldnt stop because i could realte to almost everything u said and i know exactly how u feel it was like reading my story all over again yesterday my dad hit me and i called 911 the police came and took him away and we have to go to court on monday my mom is so cared though and she didn't even want me to have gotten the police involved but i want him our and i never wnt to see him again my mom is transformed because of him he verbally abuses her all the time and she spends everyday crying but doing nothing about it hoping things will get better she only stays with him for me and my brothers sake just like ur sister my brother is completely indiferent and doesnt pay attention to what's going on in our house i think it hurts too much so he blocks it out cuz he doesnt know what to do my story is so long i don't know where to begin because what i've just said is not even hulf of it it would be good to talk to you because maybe we can help each other i especially need advice from you about how your mom got separated from you dad the 1st time my mom can't really file for divorce because she probably can't aford it we want a solution but financialy it's going to be such a risk because my mom is from a diff country and can't speak english well so the jobs where she's hired they don't pay much i also need advice about government housing just like u said i have some really really close friends and the rest of them are acquaintances one of my close friends however went through the same thing i am going through now she is the one that called the police on her dad 1st and that's y i did it too i probably would have been too scared if it wasnt for her but she's also looking for gov housing and it's so hard and it takes soooo long and our money would definitely run out any tips for that? how long did it take u to get a gov house? money is the only reason why we havent said bye bye to my ass hole of a fuckin father i have we can't make it on our own economically and that's the biggest challange anywayz plz write me back just to talk even if u can't answer my questions and thank u for writing your story on line it's good to know there are people out there that undestand
