Sally Mitchell is a practicing school psychologist in the Westerly, RI School District for the past ten years. Her experience with all grades has contributed to the identification of patterns and subsequent program development which addresses the social/emotional/behavioral and academic needs of all children.

Accomplishments include:

the development and implementation of the Support Services Team Model

the development, implementation and revisions of the district crisis response team guidelines manual

availability by pager 24 hours a day for the town and school emergency plans

major contribution to developing various special education and general education alternative learning programs

numerous presentations on varied topics, including radio and cable T.V.

the development, implementation and coordination of the Westerly Integrated Social Services Program. WISSP has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and American Institutes for Research recently nominated as a special model program by the Rhode Island Department of Education.

Sally is the recipient of the 1996 Rhode Island School Psychologist of the Year award and has been recently nominated for "outstanding educator" by the Rhode Island Department of Education. Sally resides in Westerly with her husband and their three children.
