La Familia Counseling Service La Familia Counseling Service is a community based organization serving a broad range of human serivces with emphasis on advocacy, education and community mental health. While the central focus of the agency is the Latino family, services are open to all and are delivered by a dynamic and highly qualified, multi-racial and multi-lingual staff. La Familia is about empowerment and is an active and vital member of many collaborative efforts attempting to correct the exclusion of poor and disenfranchised individuals. Some of the Hijos del Sol Youth Leadership Component programs include a Youth Mentors Program, P.R.O.M.I.S. (Peers Rising Over Major Issues in Society), and an After School Program. |
