Ann J. Bowdish, Ed. S.

Ms. Bowdish is Program Director with the Positive Education Program (PEP), a children's Mental Health Agency which operates under the auspices of the Education Service Center of Cuyahoga County, serving the Greater Cleveland metropolitan area. PEP annually serves over 3,200 children and youth and their families through a comprehensive array of service programs with a staff of approximately 550. Currently Ms. Bowdish is responsible for the administration and supervision of PEP's continuum of Early Childhood service options including: two Early Intervention Centers (initiated in 1976 under Ms. Bowdish's direction) which serve children from birth through kindergarten age in a parent implemented program model which has received nation recognition and acclaim; Day Care Plus (a project initiated in 1997 in collaboration with the Community Mental Health Board and Starting Point for Early Education and Child Care), a consultation and technical assistance service to community day care providers to prevent children from being "expelled" due to problematic behaviors; and Early Start, a state and county funded home visiting service to at-risk families with children from birth to three. Ms. Bowdish has training in education, school psychology, counseling, special education with a focus on severe emotional disturbance and early childhood, and educational administration. A member of the PEP staff since 1973, former positions included Intern Psychologist, Program Consultant in Academic and Behavioral Programming, and Program Coordinator of the Early Intervention Center during its inception and first years of operation.
