Lori Hagen

Lori Hagen has been a special education teacher in Albuquerque, New Mexico for 23 years. She currently teaches 7th and 8th graders in a self-contained classroom for multi-categorical students. She has worked with the same paraprofessional for the past 21 years. She teaches all areas of curriculum which includes social skills training.

Lori received both her Bachelor and Masters Degree in special education from the University of New Mexico. She is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) in the area of Early Childhood through Young Adult as an Exceptional Needs Specialist. She is also certified as a Professionally Recognized Special Educator (PRSE) through the Council of Exceptional Children (CEC).

Lori is a national trainer for the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) in Managing Antisocial Behavior for their Education, Research and Dissemination Program (ER&D). She also coordinates professional development of the ER&D programs for the Albuquerque Teachers Federation. She currently mentors new teachers as well as teachers going for their national boards. She also teaches Managing Antisocial Behavior for the local University. Lori has presented at various conferences throughout the United States and Canada representing the AFT. She is also on the AFT Cadre under CEC's ASPIIRE Grant for disseminating information on IDEA. Lori Hagen, NBCT, PRSP
