Dr. Mary Magee Quinn
Dr. Mary Magee Quinn is the Deputy Director of the Center for Effective Collaboration and Practice and a Senior Research Scientist at the American Institutes for Research in Washington, DC. Her duties include the identification, development and dissemination or pertinent information about effective programs and practices for working with children with or at risk of developing emotional or behavioral disorders and their families. Dr. Quinn recently co-authored a document entitled Collaboration within the Juvenile Justice System and Youth Serving Agencies: Improving Prevention, Providing More Efficient Services, and Reducing Recidivism for Youth with Disabilities funded through the U.S. Department of Education. She is currently conducting a nationwide survey to determine the extent to which children and youth with disabilities are involved in the juvenile justice system. She holds a BS in Special Education with an emphasis in Mental Retardation, a MAEd in Learning Disabilities and received her Ph.D. in Special Education Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in behavior disorders from Arizona State University. She has taught in special education classrooms, correctional facilities and at universities for more than 17 years. She has spoken at numerous professional conferences and authored monographs, articles, and research reports.
