The Center for School Mental
Health Assistance provides leadership and technical
assistance to advance effective interdisciplinary
school-based mental health programs. We strive to support
schools and communities in the development of programs that
are accessible, family-centered, culturally sensitive, and
responsive to local needs. The Center offers a forum for
training, the exchange of ideas, and the promotion of
coordinated systems of care that provide a full continuum of
services to enhance mental health, development, and learning
in youth.
Goals
1) To provide technical
assistance and consultation to diverse groups involved with,
interested in, or affected by mental health programs in
schools.
2) Provide national and state
training and education on mental health in schools in
planning and conducting their own training events.
3) Enhance emerging knowledge
bases relevant to youth learning, development and
psychosocial functioning, as they connect to mental health
programs in schools.
4) Develop and maintain an
up-to-date resource library including documents, books,
manuals, and resources relevant to mental health in schools.
5) Promote communication and
networking between people and programs interested in mental
health programs in schools. |
